Head Chef, Boutique Hotel, Bath
Salary £60,000 + 20% bonus, and company benefits
We are looking for a Head Chef to plan and direct all food operations across this beautiful boutique hotel, which is part of a family-owned group.
You will be joining a friendly team at a very exciting time. The hotel’s inside and outdoor areas are popular, and you will have full responsibility for the day-to-day food of this busy operation. This includes a restaurant, bar, tea room, room service and some conference and events facilities.
Things to know:
- Salary made up of a basic of £50K, plus tronc/service charge, and ability to earn a bonus which is 20% of salary
- Work-life balance focused – 40 – 42 hours per week which will include some weekends
- You will be joining a friendly and professional team

Things you will be doing as a Head Chef:
- Plan and direct all food being served across a busy hotel with a hands-on and proactive approach
- Maintain high standards of food and health and safety practices within the food outlets
- Manage the training and development needs of your team
- Take full responsibility for the delivery of the financial and commercial targets within your area
- Innovate ideas, help plan new products, and oversee all day-to-day operations within budgeted guidelines and to the highest standards
You will be a great fit if you:
- Are currently in a Head Chef or Sous Chef role, with a background in restaurants, hotels, or a food retail background
- Have an outgoing and nurturing personality and can keep calm under pressure
- Are confident, organised and maintain a hands-on supervisory management approach
- Can demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, a guest-first approach and a real passion for great service delivery
- Can work autonomously or as part of a team
- Are motivating, encouraging, and inspirational with a passion for supporting, developing, and coaching others
- Have experience with P&L management, purchasing of stock, and experience at delivering a budget
- Are confident, organized and maintain a hands-on supervisory management approach
- Have excellent people skills
